Exploring Cavendish - Keels go to Canada day 15

Our first stop of the day while in Cavendish would be of course, the Anne of Green Gables house.

Dad, there is a limb in front of your face...
Our lodging was near the house, we in fact were able to take the trail through "The Haunted Woods" to get to the house.
So pretty! I did get a bit excited when I saw it come into view.

We got to take our pictures in the carriage, with an Anne Shirley hat of course.

The area with the play clothes for kids was lacking in boys clothes... thats ok, PR doesn't mind looking exceptionally goofy.

Dad even got his picture in the carriage on the way out.

We monkeyed around a little bit before heading out.
 Lovers Lane.
More monkeying around down the trail. Its actually a good sign we were so happy being 15 days into the road trip with all 6 of us.
Next we went to get lunch, we decided on eating at the Blue Mussel. I'm pretty sure after this trip I will never eat at Red Lobster again. After eating shrimp in OBX North Carolina I started not caring for Red Lobster... after this trip I might not be able to go there again.
 Seafood showder poutine.
 Lobster dip.

We had fun and enjoyed the food!
Next we had to stop for some ice cream.
Of course if there is a playground at the ice cream stop, even better!

Daddy was trying to snag some of Abby's banana splits.
Since we visited after Labor Day, some of the tourist attractions were closed. Avonlea Village was one of those places. But we were able to still go take pictures.

Our last stop of the day was Cavendish Beach. Oh. So. Pretty. Red cliff beaches are gorgeous!

Of course they have got to race up the hill.
My Chloe bug loves being outside. The sand and rocks were a big hit with her.

What you don't know is that they both nearly busted their butts getting out there on slippery rocks while waves were crashing around them. Boys.

 We almost had it.....
Eh... close enough.
This night was the night hurricane Irma hit. We stayed up late keeping an eye on the weather at home and checking in with friends that still had phone service. Grateful we were not having to sit through the storm, but also concerned for our friends and family at home. We watched the weather channel, which even though we were in Canada, was all about the hurricane that was headed to Florida and news related to that. That was when we first heard the heartbreaking news of the police officer from Wauchula who had lost her life.
